Excel: how to sort a set of data on another worksheet by reference
- Copy a range from Sheet1 to Sheet2, but do Paste Special and choose link
- Enable developer mode, and create a Macro with the code from this page:
- http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-questions/583935-how-change-relative-values-absolute-mac.html
- Select all the cells you pasted a reference to and run the macro once
- Then select the cells on Sheet2 and sort them - wha la!

For getting true gain/losses after selling Adobe ESPP or RSUs
This information can be found in the eTrade in the Understanding Your Cost Basis Information for Lots Sold After section. That section can be found by going to:
- Employee Stock Plan Gains & Losses (Account - > My Stock Plan -> My Account tab -> Gains & Losses) and filter for the last tax year. Expand the Sale details for the ESPP stock
- The section: Understanding Your Cost Basis Information for Lots Sold After …. has the cost Acquisition Cost and Ordinary Income Recognized
RSU Stocks:
For the RSUs just need to add the actual cost of the stocks at the day that was vested. It also can be found as Ordinary Income Recognized in Understanding Your Cost Basis Information for Lots Sold After section.
