Canon mirrorless better than Sony as webcams

I personally found that when using the Sony software on my Mac routed through USB that it used enough processing power that the fan kicked on pretty noisily on my Macbook Pro. The frame rate was also very low.

The Canon software on the other hand used less processor power and had a smooth frame rate.

Ergo tip – 15min of standing for every 45min sitting

Research suggests that 15 minutes of standing for every 45 minutes of sitting is optimal for minimizing risks associated with sedentary work. Consider increasing your time standing to 15 minutes an hour.

Prolonged standing is arguably just as unhealthy as prolonged sitting and is not recommended. Postural variation is the key to improve your overall comfort.

Contextual explanation of breakthrough cases from Dr. Fauci

Thankfully, Anthony S. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, explained at the briefing that Americans are eight times as likely to contract the coronavirus if they are unvaccinated and 25 times more likely to be hospitalized or die. “An important point to bring up is that the greater percentage of people that are vaccinated, even with a high degree of protection, the absolute number of breakthrough infections might appear high,” he explained. “That’s not the critical number. The critical number is what is the proportion of the vaccinated people who, in fact, are getting breakthrough infections. And that’s the critical one.”

Put differently, as CNN recently did: “More than 99.99% of people fully vaccinated against Covid-19 have not had a breakthrough case resulting in hospitalization or death.” More than 6,500 breakthrough cases as of July 26 may sound like a lot, but that means “less than 0.004% of fully vaccinated people had a breakthrough case that led to hospitalization and less than 0.001% of fully vaccinated people died from a breakthrough Covid-19 case.” And of those cases, three-quarters are among the elderly.

Verses

20 Wisdom calls out in the street;

she makes her voice heard in the public squares.

21 She cries out above the commotion;

she speaks at the entrance of the city gates:

22 “How long, inexperienced ones, will you love ignorance?

How long will you mockers enjoy mocking

and you fools hate knowledge?

23 If you respond to my warning,,

then I will pour out my spirit on you

and teach you my words.

24 Since I called out and you refused,

extended my hand and no one paid attention,

25 since you neglected all my counsel

and did not accept my correction,

26 I, in turn, will laugh at your calamity.

I will mock when terror strikes you,

27 when terror strikes you like a storm

and your calamity comes like a whirlwind,

when trouble and stress overcome you.

28 Then they will call me, but I won’t answer;

they will search for me, but won’t find me.

29 Because they hated knowledge,

didn’t choose to fear the Lord,

30 were not interested in my counsel,

and rejected all my correction,

31 they will eat the fruit of their way

and be glutted with their own schemes.

32 For the apostasy of the inexperienced will kill them,

and the complacency of fools will destroy them.

33 But whoever listens to me will live securely

and be undisturbed by the dread of danger.”

 Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Pr 1:20–33). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.

Wisdom is supreme—so get wisdom.

And whatever else you get, get understanding.

 Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Pr 4:7). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.

12 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,

but one who hates correction is stupid.

 Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Pr 12). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.

15 A fool’s way is right in his own eyes,

but whoever listens to counsel is wise.

 Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Pr 12:15). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.

25 There is a way that seems right to a person,

but its end is the way to death.

 Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Pr 16:25). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.

A fool does not delight in understanding,

but only wants to show off his opinions.,

 Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Pr 18:2). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.

17 The first to state his case seems right

until another comes and cross-examines him.

 Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Pr 18:17). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.

 12 A sensible person sees danger and takes cover;

the inexperienced keep going and are punished.

 Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Pr 27:12). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.

A stone is heavy, and sand a burden,

but aggravation from a fool outweighs them both.

 Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Pr 27:3). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.

A false witness will not go unpunished,

and one who utters lies will not escape.

 Christian Standard Bible. (2020). (Pr 19:5). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.

Interesting caution about self-selection bias in a post-abortion study

https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/01/12/five-years-after-an-abortion-most-women-say-they-made-right-decision/

Reardon describes how more than two-thirds of the women approached for the study refused to participate. Of those who agreed, half dropped out. Those who reported the highest rates of relief and happiness were the ones most likely to remain, he argued. Those who reported the least relief were most likely to drop out, he said."

Sony ZV-1 usb streaming camera

After update to firmware 2.00

https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00247038 for some setting to change...but...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xptkFolwcQk - very helpful, you have to specifically select "USB Streaming" in the menus for it work (annoying).

Time it took for the stock market to recover after a crash, including the great depression

Great depression when including dividends and deflation only 4.5 years (Dow 30 not a good measure)

1974 took 8 years later. That was the longest one.
