* Check here to see which model MacBooks support native audio output over HDMI:

* If yours supports audio, buy this adapter:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/TY600VC/A/griffin-mini-displayport-to-hdmi-with-audio-dvi
* After plugging in the cable and adapter, to get sound working go to the Sound control panel, and under the output tab choose your external audio system
